Typical Tri/Spokane game. 4 fights within 30 seconds of the second period. Koper, Baldwin, Cowen, Bowman. Baldwin has learned how to fight in the last week. Instead of falling down, this kid threw down. It was a pleasant surprise. Koper went after Procyshen right when the puck dropped, probably because he was pissed for knocking out his big brother Spurgeon. Cowen is someone I wouldn’t want to fight, ever, in my life. I bet when he was a little kid, he terrorized mothers everywhere. Bowman fought later on in the game too… boy’s getting fiesty! Kuhn fought late in the second too. He kind of lost. BroD had a nice shorthanded goal. Spurgeon scored. Nice to have you back! Lettsy is out with a shoulder injury. Thanks, Chris Wells! Chiefs win 5-2, winning streak is at 8 now. Everett on Wednesday. Wooo.

Two Portland games, two wins, two million amazing saves by Tokarski. Wednesday ended 4-2, and tonight was 7-1. Calla threw down because he’s a bro. Tyler was sooooo close to a hat trick but Mucha was like, “Oh no you di’int!” Bowz scored his 100th WHL goal. Ondrej scored his first goal since he’s been back. There was some amaaaaazing hockey going on and that just makes me super excited. I’ve been waiting all season for that. Now there’s just a Tri game tomorrow night…

I will start this post by saying how goooooood little Stevie looks in his sweater.

Take that, Mr. Haterade!
Some of the hockey last night was beautiful. Such as the absolutely brilliant pass from Ondrej to Donaghy that made for a brilliant goal. Donaghy was even surprised by it. When he saw our fantastic shirts, he said, “Did you see that sweet pass he threw at me?” all excited and such. He had some nasty shorts/socks/sandals thing going on… ew. But he threwdown, so I guess I can forgive him. I really want to know what goes through players’ heads when they decide to fight him. There’s got to be some moment of realization where they’re just like, “Ohhhh crap.” Bowman scored too, his 99th or something like that. Way to go. Reid got a shutout and first star and was all giddy and excited when he came out. That’ll never get old. Ondrej looked really happy when he got his star too, and he totally looked up at us. What a stud, omgz. He’ll see our shirts eventually.

The dumb Spokane Chiefs traded Seth Compton. For Brady Calla, AKA some dude that looks ready to mug someone. End my life. Even though I had a feeling it would happen, finding out still made me really mad. As I was listening to the second period of yesterday’s game on the way down there from work, I kept hearing that Tyler was playing with the Jareds, and Seth wasn’t. He was playing on random lines that already had centers playing them. And, lo and behold, I come home to find out I was right. Considering it was his 5th year with the organization, you think they would keep him. But noooo. They have to go and rip my heart out and leave a bunch of losers on our team. Even having Ondrej back can’t make me feel better about this.

Tonight was actually a good hockey game. 4-1, Chiefs. Many will accredit it to the fact that our high scorers are back, but I’m not sure thats the only thing. Everyone out there played fantastically and for the first time in a long time I enjoyed watching the game. Johnson and Wahl were back from Team USA, and both scored goals. Wahl got one of the star awards that clearly should’ve gone to Reid. The other two came from Ulmer who was on fiiiyyuhhh tonight. Speaking of saucy foreign boys, Mike Boyle interviewed Ondrej Roman after the game. I squealed a little and smiled like a lunatic. I had completely forgotten how amazing his accent is. Sjksdhfkjhsdkfjsdf. So excited for Saturday. I love Ondrej.

I think that ref is trying out for the next Broadway edition of Fosse.

ONDREJ IS COMING BACK ONDREJ IS COMING BACK KSFHKDJKJFKHKAKJHKJHFD. SEE? Its even got Hardy talking. Oh man. I’m so excited right now. Me and Miss Heather are going all out for Saturday’s game. We’ll have shirts and signs and the whole shebang. It shall be fabulous.

“…as of late Friday night Roman said the odds were “60-40” that he’ll be headed to Spokane.”
Ondrej, come back. We miss you. Seeing you in World Juniors made me happy yet sad at the same time. I cried myself to sleep knowing you should be here. Now, please decide by Saturday… its your only chance.
In other news…
Team Canada wins gold, with player of the game Dustin Tokarski stopping 39 shots and getting thiiiis close to a shutout. I ask for far too much from him. But he didn’t disappoint, and played probably the best he’s played in a long time. Sweden’s goalie was a fiesty fellow, and even started throwing punches at one point. He was a great actor too, making being tripped while 20 feet out of the net seem huge. But I guess thats how you play in Sweden. Unfortunately, I could only watch the first half of the game (dumb bank…), but I’ll watch it later. I know the important stuff though.

This was just a bad week for Spokane fans. Losses to Tri (6-1), Kelowna (3-0), and Portland (2-1); with a few Team USA losses in there too. Portland didn’t even play Mucha. They used a backup rookie. Now, what does that say about our team? The only good thing that’s happened is that Tokarski is taking Canada to the top with his fantastic “saves of the year“, only to be rivaled by a nice stop on a Tyler Johnson shot. USA plays today for 5th place against the Czech Republic and Ondrej later today, so Mitch Wahl, Drayson Bowman, and Tyler Johnson will all be back in time for Wednesday’s game. Tokarski might be back too, because the gold medal game against Sweden is on Monday. But I don’t know when medal ceremonies are and such so he could not be back yet. I’m not super excited for our guys to come back like some people are, because honestly, even when they were here we weren’t playing good at all. Eh, we’ll see…
